This year's edition of Gotland Runt, which started calmly outside a rainy Sandhamn, already has several crews that have withdrawn. After eight hours of sailing, 12 boats have chosen to abandon the race due to various material damages and technical problems. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, and all boats can make it to shore on their own.

Among the affected boats is the record participant, the 175-foot boat Ravenger, which is now heading towards Saltsjöbaden due to hydraulic problems. The classic boat Ballad has withdrawn from the race due to rigging issues, and the only multihull boat in the competition, CarbonTiger, has abandoned due to a broken centerboard.

At 17:30, the leaders reached Svenska Högarna, and at 22:00, reports came in about the 12 boats that had withdrawn. Despite this, the race continues, and a majority of the fleet has passed Svenska Högarna, with the leaders passing Gotska Sandön at 23:00, led by the British VO70, Tschuss II.

Gotland Runt continues with excitement, and we are closely following developments from Sandhamn. For more information and updates, visit tlandrunt.se.
