It's a big week for the OK Dinghy class. After a lot of work, the new OKDIA website has been launched to modernise the platform, branding and visual content.

Later this week, an unprecedented 82 OK Dinghies will start racing in Kieler Woche, the largest fleet the class has had there that anyone remembers.

A new website has been a long time coming. The new site is the third iteration since the class launched its first website in the 1990s, at the start of the web and one of the first classes to have an online presence. The site has a huge amount of content and the old legacy pages also remain accessible while content is transferred to the new CMS based platform.

The new site is more searchable, more visual, and more structured and ultimately reflects the modernity and growth of the class in recent years. See more here.

Of course, new content still largely depends on what is supplied to the webmaster, and users are requested to feedback on the new site to help us further enhance the experience. What is launched this week is just the start, with further developments in the pipeline. One of the new features of the site is the feed to the new OK Dinghy Mastodon page.

Please take a look at www.okdia.org. All feedback welcome.

82 boats at Kiel

With the World Championship already having taken place in Brisbane, Australia, in February, and the European Championship at the Real Club Nautico de Palma, in October, Kieler Woche was promoted as the major event of the summer, but still, the entry numbers surprised everyone. It is the third largest dinghy fleet in Kiel and underlines the huge interest in the class at the moment. The line-up includes entries from eight countries, and several former world and European champions.

The development of the Spanish fleet in Palma prompted the class to assign the 2024 European Championship to the RCNP, with 50 boats already entered. 2024.okeuropeans.org Meanwhile, pre-entry for the 2025 World Championship at Arco, Lake Garda, is already at 157. 2025.okworlds.org
