2015 St. Maarten Heineken Regatta - Web users will be greeted with a fresh and revitalized regatta website that combines all relative event information in one place. Easy to navigate and full of fun regatta images, it gives you a glimpse of the exciting dynamics of the event, showcasing the sailing and party aspects while delivering essential information.

In addition to regatta documents and details, everything you need to plan your stay is located on the website, from hotels and marinas to boat and car rentals. The launch of their new website will coincide with the new and improved housestyle celebrating 35 years of Serious Fun, using this anniversary as an opportunity to revamp the feel of the event and create an event specific logo as well as a clear visual identity. This was made possible with the support of Bureau Kellerman, an advertising agency in the Netherlands and Heineken International.

'It all started off with a concept based on a grid, this is a graphic representation of the rigging on a yacht to establish a nautical feel' said regatta director Michele Korteweg. 'It portrays both sailing and partying, day and night, showing the 24/7 dynamics of the event. In line with this concept a logo was designed including the grid in the sail. The logo further emphasizes the destination, it’s a Caribbean event, the biggest regatta in the Caribbean. It’s progressive, modern, elegant and clean, communicating a clear message: Sailing in St. Maarten. This entire concept comes together in the new website'.

Korteweg mentioned that the website of the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta was ready for an update. Three years after redoing their website they could see that technology was advancing rapidly, and they were struggling to keep up. A huge effort was made to generate a new house style, and it was essential to implement it into a new and improved website.

'We choose Carib Web Services as our new website developer as they pitched exactly what was in line with our new designs. We saw a good fit and have enjoyed working closely on finalizing this project. Carib Web Services became a Presenting Sponsor by developing the website as part of their sponsorship, however they will also maintain and update the website year round. I don’t think we could have found a better partner to work with, it takes a huge strain off of our office, they are experts in their field and will ensure the website will looks professional and clean, but most importantly, easy to navigate.'

One of the most attractive aspects of the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta is its location. Tropical temperatures year round and favourable trade winds have been a lure for sailors for centuries, and 2015 will be no different. Sailors from around the world will descend upon the island by air and sea to compete against some of the best sailors from around the globe. Preparations will be done online as most competitors don’t arrive until days before the event. The new website will proof to be a vital tool in accommodating the participants of the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta in their preparations.

Further development is visible in the entry and result system of the event. Regattaguru.com has been vital in developing this system and has come great lengths in the past five years. They are also launching a new look and many new features to make it easier for participants to complete their registration, access results and stay informed of all racing matters during the four days of the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta.

Visit website and navigate your way to the 35th St. Maarten Heineken Regatta and join us for some Serious Fun!
