If you're wanting a small boat that will be good for cruising but also competitive if you want to join the occasional race, it might pay to look at the new Dehler 32.

The new Dehler 32 has been nominated in category performance cruiser for the prestigious international award of European Yacht of the Year. The yacht is a both a comfortable cruiser and a successful racer.

For a small crew the boat, a Judel/Vrolijk design, boasts being easy to sail and manoeuvre in all weather situations.

Build, layout and equipment::
The Dehler 32 is built according to CE-Certification, Class A. The deck is laminated to the hull in the mould for integrated structure, and has a non-slip moulded deck area. There is a self-draining anchor locker. the keel is cast iron, with stainless steel bolts.
In the roomy self-draining cockpit there is a large cockpit locker on the starboard side, the steering system is by tiller. There are opening deck hatches in the forward cabin and the saloon, six windows, four of which are openable.

The companionway features a sliding opening, there's a stainless pulpit and pushpit, along with a safety boarding ladder. The tracks are Genua, and the winches by Harken, self-tailing.

The yacht will be displayed on all international boat shows. The international European Yacht of the Year-jury of yachting journalists of the leading European yacht sport magazines will inspect and test the Dehler 32 along with all the other nominations on the waters of Barcelona, Spain later in the year. The award will be announced during the Boot Düsseldorf Boat Show in January 2011.

European Yacht of the Year - the Award:
The European Yacht of the Year Award was initiated by Yacht magazine of Germany at boot in 2001 and has since been voted in co-operation with national magazines Badnyt Denmark, Batnytt Sweden, Fare Vela Italy, Seilas Norway, Swissboat Yachting Switzerland, Voile Magazine France, Waterkampioen the Netherlands, Yacht Revue Austria, Yachting World England and Yate Spain.
