At 11am on Saturday 18th May Marine Rescue Ulladulla will commission its new offshore rescue vessel, a fast response, long-cabin Steber 38, with deployment capability for up to 30 nautical miles offshore, at the Marine Rescue Ulladulla base, Ulladulla Harbour.

The new vessel, Ulladulla 30, carries the name Warden II as well, which not only reflects its role as a guardian of the region’s boaters but also the southern headland to Ulladulla Harbour, Warden Head, named after the region’s pioneering boat-building brothers David and James Warden. It is the second Ulladulla rescue vessel to carry the Warden name.

This is one of more than 30 new and refurbished vessels delivered in a demanding fleet upgrade program to provide the NSW recreational boating community with a fleet of modern, Australian-built rescue vessels and ensure our volunteers have safe and reliable equipment for their rescue work.

Ulladulla 30 will be stationed at Ulladulla on the NSW South Coast as part of a strategically located safety net of offshore vessels covering the NSW coast.

Marine Rescue Ulladulla will also open its new Training Centre which will be used for radio and boat crew training for unit volunteers, as well as for public boating licence and radio courses and testing. It also will be available for community use

Attending the launch will be:
• Marine Rescue NSW Commissioner Stacey Tannos,
• Board member and past Ulladulla Unit Commander, Doug Musker
• Member for Gilmore and Shoalhaven Mayor Joanna Gash
• NSW Parliamentary Speaker and South Coast MP Shelley Hancock
• Volunteers from Marine Rescue Ulladulla

WHEN: Saturday 18th May at 11am
WHERE: Ulladulla NSW, Ulladulla Boat Harbour, Ulladulla
