Zhik MD appoints new CEO

by John Curnow on 2 Aug 2016
A great working arrangement – Founding Director, Brian Conolly (L), with Zhik’s new CEO, David Crow (R) Zhik
Brian Conolly, Zhik’s Managing Director announced with great pleasure today the immediate appointment of a CEO. David Crow will be the new CEO of the specialist waterborne apparel brand, Zhik, with its super-distinctive ‘Zk’ moniker.

Crow has an extensive, 29-year background in Fast Moving Consumer Goods with companies such as Unilever, British American Tobacco and Glaxo Smith Kline. He is a passionate sailor, having started in Sabots on the Brisbane River, where there is a six-knot tide and then moving through Lasers, Stars, the 12 Metres and many a mile in blue water racing.

‘Crowie’, as he is best and almost exclusively known as, said of his appointment, “I love it all and am looking forward to spending more time in and around the greater Zhik community across the globe.” He is incredibly energetic, enthusiastic and self-confessed as slightly loud, with an effervescent style and nature that will be easy to recognise.

“These are exciting times for Zhik, as we enter a new phase of growth. Crowie brings us exactly the right commercial expertise to boost us further into the yachting market”, said Conolly.

Meanwhile, Brian is certainly not going far at all. His new title will be Founding Director, and the move is all about allowing Brian more time to concentrate on product development, by placing David Crow in charge of all the global commercial aspects of Zhik.

The Board, Shareholders and Conolly himself conducted a wide search of relevant talent over the course of this year. “We discovered Crowie and are very pleased that he has agreed to join the Zhik family and all of our terrific waterborne Ambassadors, Team Riders, distributors and loyal clients”, said Conolly

“Yes I am delighted to be part of it all and to be focussing on bringing continued innovation from a driven and highly creative organisation that delivers fantastic apparel to the water based communities. Please watch this space for sensational new ideas to hit the market in the coming few months. I really do look forward to meeting as many of the greater Zhik clan over the course of my first year”, said Crowie in conclusion.

Zhik is available in over 40 countries and of course from zhik.com. Performance is the key determination with a serious bent towards technology, but Zhik prides itself on ensuring comfort, durability, style, and practicality are the differentiating factors for their gear, so that you can get on with being your best, every time you go to the water. You get all of that no matter whether you are into dinghies, yachts, SUP or Kayaking.

If it is on the water or roaring along just above it, Zhik has the world’s greatest experts all collaborating to bring you something different, better and clever!
