The Kiwis Paint Fiji's Blue Waters All Black
Hall Spars & Rigging NZ staff Pete Geary and Edwin Delaat painted it black in the recent ANZ Sail Fiji aboard Hall Spars-rigged Shaman; crossing the line second in a fast paced record-breaking race.

The Kiwi-designed, Kiwi-built and Kiwi-rigged lithe little ladies, Blink, Anarchy and Crusader performed brilliantly against much larger launches. Blink claimed 3rd place on the line and placed on the podium for both the IRC and PHRF divisions with a 2nd and 3rd. Anarchy's achievement is rendered even more impressive given AJ Reid's intimate injury. In a nod to consumer confidence, we are pleased to report there were no breakages to any Hall Spars & Rigging equipment throughout the 1200nm race.

We understand the hard work involved in preparing a yacht for any offshore race and heartily congratulate all crews that took on the challenge of getting to Port Denarau in Fiji. Our thoughts also go out to the crew from Platino, as well as their friends and family for their tragic loss following the race.

We Don't Just Rig. We Race.
Brad Marsh, director of the Hollow Composite Battens Programme, has recently competed in the Giraglia Rolex Cup on Hall Spars-rigged Botin 65 Caro. Brad raced with a predominantly Kiwi crew in St Tropez for the three-day regatta as well as in the 241nm offshore race to the Italian port of Genoa.

“We gain a lot of inside knowledge by taking part in these events and witnessing first-hand how the boats react when pushed to their limits by race crews. It's all adding to a pool of research which can only make our products better,” says Brad.

Brad is now competing in the 52 Super Series where he races on board Cookson-built Sled. Using a mainsail with a selection of our HCB Battens, this is the first time our battens have been used in the grand prix class and we look forward to supporting the team throughout the series.

Our Workshop Refit Helps Your Boat Move Faster
Solutions-driven, Hall Spars & Rigging NZ have expanded to create the largest workspace we've ever known within our state-of-the-art Auckland workshop whilst simultaneously improving project delivery times.

A second temperature-controlled structure has been built enabling the team to accommodate the most projects we've ever had running concurrently without any compromise to quality. The workshop refit also allows for improved project delivery times due to the team's ability to best utilise the space.

"We approach each project we undertake with a focus on process improvement," says Hass. "And that means also finding creative solutions for the world around us. We look forward to passing these innovations onto our clients in the form of improved service."

Faster 41s
New clients have recently received new rigs for a Mills 41 (design above) and Ker 41 in Turkey and Japan.

Currently in-build at McConaghy Boat Builders, the Mills 41 has a new rig design that allows for increased forestay tension by adding stiffness to the rig itself.

“While enhancing the performance of any yacht, Hall Spars & Rigging NZ also pride ourselves on being able to retain the structural integrity needed to perform under maximum loads,” says head designer Matthew Stuart.

A further development on previous deflector rigs, the design of the rig built for the Ker 41 will allow for more control over mast bend to generate optimum sail shape.

Both masts reflect the advancement of the latest 3D titanium printing and ultra low windage fittings (including recessed pins and parts) giving a smooth, sleeker and faster mast package.

Custom Rope Packages
Drive the performance of your yacht with custom strops. Load-tested prior to leaving the factory, Hall Spars & Rigging NZ offer rope shackles and light-weight high modulus ropes with high performance covers.

To reduce the possibility of strop failure from overuse, our in-house rigging team log and track the lifespan of your single pull-tested strops; letting you know when it's time to replace them.

Full deck packages or single sheets are available at competitive prices using only the best products such as the Donaghys rope range. Used by many top programmes for decades, Donaghys is synonymous with quality and performance.
