World Speed Sailing record.
Sophie Routaboul increased the best peak speed ever recorded by a lady on Monday 6th September, to just shy of 50 knots - 49.55 knots at Luderitz.
She managed this during her first session at Luderitz since arriving there, so it's safe to assume she'll improve this to over 50 knots during the event.
What's amazing is that Sophie's been kiting for less than two years.
She must surely be considered a strong contender for the outright woman's world record.
The 'Luderitz Speed Challenge 2010' will ensure that all possible is done to allow the world and national records to be broken. The event will take place from 4 to 31 October 2010, at Luderitz in Namibia.
