by Alessandro Mosca on 17 Jul 2012

Fireball European Championship 2012 is to be hosted by Yacht Club Bracciano Est, in Rome, during the week of July 21 to 27. The Yacht Club was founded in 1973 and is one of the sailing clubs of the IVth Zone FIV of Italy with a long history in the sport of sailing having hosted many European and World Championships since 2001.

This year over one hundred crews confirmed their attendance to the European Fireball Championship 2012 rounding up to 200 participants. Forty-two are women and six will be all-women teams and thirty mixed teams. Among the total participants, forty already competed in the World and European Championship (Rome 2001) and some have kept for this upcoming event the same team formation. The crews are composed by members of eleven countries: Belgium, France, Czech Republic, Ireland, Slovenia, United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland and Italy plus two crews from Canada and Namibia. The European Fireball Championship 2012 is under the patronage of CONI (Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano) which supports all the ideals and goals of best sportsmanship.
