Sail-World' s Richard Gladwell was on the water today for the first sail of the team's second generation AC72, launched on February 4, 2013.
Conditions were a light seabreeeze of less than 8kts, we didn't have a lot left in the gas tank to indulge in one of the long forways into the Gulf in which the AC72 seems to cover a lot of ground awfully quickly.
So it was just a quick spin around the AC72, but enough to take in some of the more obvious points. This was her first go to windward, so the crew were taking it fairly lightly. Later in the day we understand she was foiling in winds of 7-8kts - with very fuss from the daggerboards.
