The organising committee for the International Paint Poole Regatta 2024 are thrilled to announce that there will be a flypast of the regatta by two Spitfires from the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flypast on Sunday 26th May 2024.

The exact timing and the route that these famous British fighters will take as they grace the skies overhead will be confirmed closer to the time as it is, understandably, weather dependent. With plenty of vantage points around Poole Harbour, there will be ample opportunity for members of the public, both on and off the water to listen for the roar and enjoy the nostalgia that seeing these symbols of hope, courage and engineering excellence brings.

Entries for the 2024 International Paint Poole Regatta, which takes place from May 25th - 27th, are still open with early bird entry ending on the 14th April. The regatta, which is organised by the Combined Yacht Clubs of Poole, is a well-established event in the UK yacht racing calendar and is ideal for any level of sailor, from first time racers to professionals.

This year's regatta includes the notable inclusion of the GBR IRC National Championship, which is being held outside of the Solent for the first time in its history. Alongside the IRC racing, classes competing include Performance 40, Sonata (Regional Championship), J80 (2024 Nationals), Sportsboat Class, HP30, J70, QTR Ton Class, J24 (Southern Area Nationals - a 2025 J24 Worlds Qualification Event) and The VPRS Southern Area Championship. Whilst a valid rating certificate is required to compete in the regatta, competitors can request a free rating, valid only for the Regatta, from VPRS.

In addition to the competitive racing there will be a host of shore side events for competitors, making The International Paint Poole Regatta a memorable experience both on and off the water.

Visit www.pooleregatta.co.uk for more information on the regatta and how to enter. For the latest Regatta news, including timings for Spitfire flypast, please follow their social media channels.
